Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 September 2026
This policy explains what personal data eTOW processes when you use the service, why it is processed, and how you can ask for it to be corrected or removed.
Who operates eTOW
eTOW is an operational workspace for marine and offshore survey operations, operated by OceanFront AS (organisation number 917 082 669), Kronullveien 1, 6521 Kristiansund, Norway, at https://etow.oceanfront.no.
Privacy and support requests: post@oceanfront.no. Corporate website: https://oceanfront.no.
Platform data and project data
OceanFront AS operates eTOW and processes account, authentication, invitation/access and platform-administration data necessary to provide and secure the service.
Information entered into an eTOW project on behalf of a customer or participating organization is handled for that organization, which may determine the purposes for which the information is used. Requests concerning project content may therefore need to be handled by the relevant organization rather than by OceanFront AS.
Data we process
- Account identity: name (if provided), email address, and the account identifier from your sign-in provider (for example a Google account identifier) when you sign in with that provider.
- Profile image, where your sign-in provider supplies one.
- Access data: invitations, organization and project memberships, and the permissions granted to you.
- Security and activity data relevant to operating the service, such as sign-in events and administrative changes to access.
- Operational content you or your organization enter into eTOW, such as projects, items, observations, tracks and related records.
Why we process it
- To authenticate you and keep your session secure.
- To match your email address against an invitation, since eTOW access is invitation-only.
- To determine which organizations and projects you may access, and with which permissions.
- To keep the service secure and to support administrative and audit review of access changes.
Sign-in with Google
Where Google sign-in is offered, eTOW uses it for basic authentication and identity only. Basic identity can include your email address, your name and basic profile information, and your Google account identifier.
eTOW does not access Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts or any other Google service, unless additional permissions are deliberately introduced in the future and you are asked to consent to them.
Storage, security and service providers
eTOW is a hosted web application. Account, access and operational data are stored in managed cloud infrastructure used to run the service, and access is restricted by the organization and project permissions described above.
Necessary hosting, database, authentication and related infrastructure providers may process data on our behalf in order to operate eTOW.
Sharing
Data you enter into eTOW may be visible to other users who have been granted access to the same organization or project, and to administrators of that organization.
We do not sell personal data. Data may otherwise be disclosed only where required by applicable law or to protect the security of the service.
Retention, correction and deletion
Data is retained as necessary to operate eTOW, to support customer and organizational requirements, for security and audit purposes, and to meet applicable legal obligations.
You can ask for your account data to be corrected or deleted, or ask for a copy of it, by contacting OceanFront AS using the details above. Requests concerning operational project content are handled through the organization that owns that project where appropriate.
Corporate commitment
OceanFront AS is part of eSEA Group, whose corporate policy treats protection of personal data as a priority. See the eSEA Policy on ethical and responsible conduct. That document describes corporate conduct and does not replace this Privacy Policy.
